There’s a kind of vibe that takes over when you walk into a room full of engineers, architects, and construction professionals. It is infectious. When Prabal Singh and I from the CCTech team walked into Autodesk KnowledgeXpo 2026 in Pune, we surely felt a buzz of curiosity, conversation, and pure enthusiasm.
The Intent Behind the Visit
Being at KnowledgeXpo was more than a mere attendance for CCTech. For more than two decades, we have been a trusted development partner of Autodesk. We were keen to see what was new in the AEC industry, discuss Autodesk’s strategy for the future, and understand the value of new technologies for our customers. It was also an excellent opportunity to connect with other industry leaders and increase connections in the Autodesk community.
One of the most interesting topics currently revolving around AEC is Artificial Intelligence (AI). During KnowledgeXpo, we attended sessions on Digital Twins with Autodesk Tandem, Digital Infrastructure Design, Connected Construction, and Immersive Collaboration. In each session, we saw how AI, integrative workflows, and cloud collaboration are already creating a huge impact in the AEC industry.
Sessions that Caught our Attention
The two sessions that really resonated for me were the presentations on “Autodesk Forma” (formerly “Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)”) and “Digital Twins”. Not top-of-the-head concepts, but to see them put into concrete form was the difference. The stories of real customers, real numbers, and real solutions to real problems—they made the technology seem real and accessible, not just another collection of buzzwords on a slide.
One moment that really struck me was contemplating the use of Digital Twins in operational decision-making, rather than just visualization. Connecting live project data with a virtual model and using it to predict results, manage assets, and plug collaboration gaps – a change from reactive to proactive project management that the industry really needs.
The AI talks were also thought-provoking. Not the “AI will replace engineers” variety, but the fact-based, common-sense variety, where AI is used to handle mundane documentation, identify design conflicts before they turn into site issues, and uncover risk trends through project history to achieve digital transformation. The message was loud and clear:
“Digital transformation is no longer about adopting new tools—it’s about creating connected ecosystems where data, people, and AI work together to deliver better outcomes.”
A Proud Moment for CCTech
One thing we weren’t entirely expecting was to see CCTech’s work showcased on the KnowledgeXpo stage. Watching our recent Autodesk releases being demonstrated in front of such a prominent audience was genuinely moving. It’s one thing to work on a product internally and another to see it being held up as an example of what’s possible for the broader industry. That moment reinforced why we do what we do.
What We’re Taking Back
We came back with more than notes. We gained clarity on how the customer requirements are changing to be in the race of technological advancement, with a fruitful business outcome. Finally, we also gained a good understanding of AI automation capabilities for the AEC industry. This will further help us to explore more of the CCTech products and integrate AI to develop as a digital transformation brand.
Autodesk KnowledgeXpo Pune was a reminder that the AEC industry is in a genuinely exciting moment — one where the right partnerships, the right tools, and the right thinking can meaningfully change how projects are delivered.
